I love ice hockey, and have covered the NHL for various websites before starting my own website in 2018 to cover Australian ice hockey.
I’m excited to cover all levels of the sport here on Hockey Hype Australia, and highlight the fantastic people involved in ice hockey. My role will be varied, from some social media work, website management, graphic design, editing, and writing.
I’m looking forward to working with a great group of people who are passionate about the greatest sport on earth!
Andrew Macdougall – Co-Founder
The sport of ice hockey is the reason I studied and wanted to become a journalist, I fell in love with the game in 2010 after watching a Melbourne Mustangs exhibition series. Not long after I started my blog, which grew to become the number one ice hockey website in Australia. I have appeared on radio, podcasts, and written for numerous online publications to help grow the sport.
My role at Hockey Hype Australia will be from podcasting, social media, writing, and any other gap that needs to be filled. We have a terrific team here, and I look forward to creating some terrific content for the Australian ice hockey community.
Courtney Kynaston – Contributor
Courtney is passionate about social media marketing, ice hockey, and bringing those two things together as part of the Hockey Hype crew.
Courtney brings 15+ years of digital marketing and writing experience to our team, and is a key part of creating content for us out of Hunter Ice Skating Stadium in Newcastle.

A hockey fan who loves to dabble in graphics, stats and talk Australian hockey, Sean hopes to contribute to delivering content in a fun and interesting way across the Hockey Hype Australia network.
Tristan Metcalfe – Head of Stats
Tristan is a big nerd and enjoys combining a love for spreadsheets with love for hockey.
Having been a fan, mascot and volunteer around the AIHL for over a decade, he’s hoping to dig up some slightly obscure and hopefully interesting statistical bits and pieces around hockey.
He’s looking forward to working with enthusiastic and committed people to contribute to the growth of hockey in Australia.
