A recent announcement from the Australian Junior Ice Hockey League (AJIHL) has given an update to its structure for the upcoming 2024 season.

The premier junior competition in Australia, the AJIHL showcases the next rising stars and top talent across multiple states throughout the country.

Heading into its tenth season, the AJIHL will be held as a showcase series across four days from August 15-18 at IceHQ Reservoir location.

This moves away from the previously announced four-team drafted league, that was looking to revert back to proper season format schedule which the league originally started with.

Futhermore, that format was also due to be held at IceHQ in Reservoir, Victoria between April and July 2024.

The updated release moves back to a structure that has been implemented since emerging from the COVID pandemic, where we will see a carnival type system across four days.

It will be a junior hockey fest which will see two training and drill sessions, followed by eight games concluding with the medal matches.

Players eligible for selection are those born between 2004-2008 with rosters to be announced mid-April according to the release.

Current defending champions Adelaide Generals are three-time winners of the competition, which was first held in 2012.
